Whilst Epiphone are, perhaps, more famed for their Casino, Riviera and Sheraton guitars, there are a number of models that they have produced throughout their history that are equally worthy of your attention.
The Epiphone Wilshire is one such model. Visually, the Wilshire is the epitome of retro cool, with its own unique styling. And with Alnico Classic and Classic plus pickups, it doesn’t take much effort to dial in classic rock tones. Building on the renewed popularity of the Wilshire, and in collaboration with My Chemical Romance guitarist, Frank Iero, the Epiphone Wilshire Phantomatic has been created.
Killer Looks with Varitone Switching…
With the classic looks of its siblings, you could be forgiven for thinking this was an ordinary Epiphone Wilshire, albeit a Wilshire with a very pretty new finish. And, whilst it does feature many of the things that make the Wilshire great, including the classic, double cutaway mahogany body, set, mahogany, slim-taper neck and Alnico Classic and Classic Plus pickups, the onboard electronics really set this guitar apart.
The Epiphone Wilshire Phantomatic (sometimes written phant-o-matic) features a 6-position Varitone switching system, which employs a mixture of notch filters and coil tapping to provide 18 unique guitar tones. And, in another unique twist, a kill switch is mounted onto one its horns. If you’re a player who likes to create unique tones and effects, then you’ll love this Wilshire. In addition, Wilkinson tuners and an SG style headstock give this guitar a premium look and feel. This is sure to be a huge hit with fans of My Chemical Romance, but has more than enough unique features to make it a very appealing and versatile guitar to anyone playing in nearly any style.
Richardson confirmed that a third series of Gerard Way’s Eisner and Harvey Award-winning title is in the works, during an interview with Comic Book Resources.
He could not give a date for its release, citing the My Chemical Romance frontman’s busy touring schedule.
Richardson praised Way’s fresh perspective on comic book writing. “[Way] comes in with amazing ideas and brings a little different twist on what we know as superheroes,” he said.
Way is also working on some more projects for Dark Horse, that Richardson said he could only tease.
“Gerard has some other amazing ideas that we’re also working on,” he said.
Richardson said that the Umbrella Academy movie is still in development. “We want to get the right tone for it,” he said. “We’re very excited.”
Last Week, we received an e-mail from rockers My Chemical Romance asking if wed like to be their VIP guests at their show that evening. We are dorks, so we of course jumped up and down and cancelled any other silly plans
we had. My Chemical Romance said they had been long time fans of Blackbird and were very excited about InAisce, and the boots shown below. Gerard, the lead singer was looking for just the right boot as inspiration for the look of the bands upcoming album. Nicole, Blackbirds owner and creative director, shared stories of hanging out and sharing ideas with Jona, InAisces lead Designer while Gerard made sure these were just the boots he was looking for. Thanks to all the guys for a great time, your humble hearts and talent will continue to take you far

Following his dismissal from My Chemical Romance for alleged theft, former drummer Michael Pedicone has issued a statement exclusively through Kerrang.com.
“To the media, my colleagues in the music industry, and, most importantly, the fans of My Chemical Romance.
“As many of you have heard by now, on Thursday evening I waslet go as the touring drummer for MCR. The ensuing hours have been difficult for many reasons, but particularl
y because the actions that led to my dismissal have been twisted and misinterpreted via rumour mongering on the internet. With this, I’d like to put the rumours to rest.
“Almost as soon as I began touring with MCR I ran into problems with a member of the band’s crew who I’ll not name.
The problems were many, big and small, but some of them were large enough that
they began to greatly impact me and, by extension, my family. I’d reached my wits’ end, and I made what was certainly the poorest decision of my life. Rather than address the issues that I had with the crew member in an open and honest manner, I tried to make them look irresponsible.
My intention was to make this person look incompetent. I had no intention of profiting whatsoever. Again, I cannot overstate how poor my judgment was in this situation; it was a tremendous mistake, and it’s one I’ll regret for years to come.
“I would have liked an opportunity to share my side of the story with MCR, an opportunity to express my remorse. I was never given one.
“I’d like to thank MCR’s members, crew, and supporters for giving me some of the best musical experiences of my life in the past several months. However brief our partnership, it was an honour and a dream come true to play with such a talented bunch of individuals. I wish MCR the best of luck in the future, and I’m looking forward to my next endeavour.
Thank you, Michael Pedicone.”
Former Suicide File drummer Jarrod Alexander is temporarily filling in while the band continue their U.S. tour with Blink 182.
