Gerard Way has shared a new video via Twitter titled Pink Station Zero, which happens to be the name of a “station” from All Ages, a new comic he is working on. In it, an anchor announces that viewers should stay tuned for new music from Gerard Way next week.

The music is, presumably the song “No Shows,” the video for which is set for release next Tuesday, August 19, which is also when pre-orders for Way’s upcoming album Hesitant Alien launch.

Check out the clip below.

Check out Way’s sketches of Pink Station Zero, which he unveiled on a recent Google+ chat with Wacom.

The video also features another tiny easter egg for fans who pay attention. In it, the anchor mentions “actress Gina Barbeux,” a name fans will remember having seen in Way’s The Umbrella Academy comics.

Frank Iero releases new demo, “joyriding”

tumblr_mr4u9p8tkg1qjpavpo1_500

Frank Iero, former My Chemical Romance guitarist and Death Spells vocalist, has released a new demo titled “joyriding.”

Read the song’s backstory and lyrics, originally posted on his blog, and stream the song below:

“hi…so today i ended up having a very nice conversation about music and other things with Sam Coare from Kerrang! Magazine. after i got off the phone i went down into my basement and wrote this song. Sam and i had talked about inspiration and creativity, and i told him i go through periods of making things and then a week later hating

everything i’ve made and destroying it all. i told him i’d like to try and experiment with creating something and releasing it before i have a chance to hate myself for making it. so when i wrote this song it almost seemed like a dare…

joyriding. (demo)
i’m not sure what they said, but if it’s true i’ll bet
it’s just one more thing i’ll regret.
i hate my weaknesses, they made me who i am.
‘yea it’s cool i’ll be ok’
as i felt your pain wash over me, so i dry your eyes and hide my shakes
because i hate that look that’s on your face.
these things inside my head, they never make much sense.
so i wouldn’t hold my breath…
i hope i die before they save my soul.
‘yea it’s cool i’ll be ok’
as i felt your pain wash over me, so i dry your eyes and hide my shakes
because i hate that look that’s on your face.
don’t hang up, because i don’t have anyone left here
don’t give up, don’t hang on to anything i’ve said.
i hate my weaknesses, they made me who i am

it makes no difference, i’m insignificant.

‘yea it’s cool i’ll be ok’
as i felt your pain wash over me, so i dry your eyes and hide my shakes
because i hate that look that’s on your face
and this is not the end for us.

Hear HERE the new demo “joyriding.”

This latest song from Iero lies somewhere between his more melodic leanings (as seen in arecent solo acoustic

performance for the Going Off Track podcast) and experimentation with elements of noise (a la Death Spells.)

The song also sounds slightly more in the vein of “This Song Is A Curse,” which he released in 2012. In a recent interview with Epiphone, he had revealed that in addition to Death Spells, he is also working on another new project, the sound of which he likened to something more like the above.

Though, this latest posting is obviously spur-of-the-moment and unattached to any project save for Iero’s personal SoundCloud, which once boasted a cover of the Ronettes’ “Be My Baby” (it has since been deleted) and a Christmas parody song.

Gerard Way posts lyrics of new song, “Millions”

g-w

Gerard Way has posted the lyrics of a new song titled “Millions,” which he notes is about “a group of jewel thieves.”

“Everything is fine,” Way prefaces. “Then everything goes horribly wrong.”

Read the lyrics below:

“So I’ll just put them here-*note-This is a song about a group of jewel thieves. Everything is fine, then everything goes horribly wrong. “

“MILLIONS”

“You twist my arm
I’m twisting fate
You’ll leave alone, or crazy great
Or break into a million pieces, all your reasons

Lets live alone
And out of state
Lets make up everything and wake up breathing
Don’t give a damn about the wreck you leave in

You can use my friends, but that depends-

On what [they’re] for
And while we’re laying on the floor
My mouth is sore
I’m keeping score
A million reasons but I need a million more

You believe in love
I believe in faith
They’ll believe in anything, you make up villains
A trillion legions of the damned and William,
It was really me
It was really you
There was really nothing I could do
Until then,
Lets use our magic powers with the children

You don’t understand, we don’t hold hands

Come catch me, run
Cuz I’m not having any fun
I think you’re sore
I think I’m done
A million reasons

Can I be your number one?

Yeah. Yeah.”

As for when this song will actually be released for your ears, Way offered no answer when asked by a fan:

The former My Chemical Romance frontman hinted yesterday that he may be able to reveal details of his next project as early as next week. Whether these lyrics are related to that, we cannot confirm.

Still, you can read our post detailing some of the hints he’s dropped about future musical ventures so far.

Ray Toro tracks guitar for new Voltaire album

RayToro-Voltaire2013

Ray Toro, former lead guitarist of My Chemical Romance, has entered the studio with dark multi-platform artist Aurelio Voltaire to record guitars for select tracks from his upcoming album, Raised By Bats!.

In the video below, Toro plays the album’s title track.

“It is with a tremendous amount of joy and pride that I share with you that Ray Toro of My Chemical Romance was kind enough to record tracks for my upcoming album Raised by Bats!,” Voltaire wrote in the description for the below video of Toro playing his song “Oh My Goth!” “I am truly moved by this man’s abilities, his humility and the fact that he chose to share both with me.”

This isn’t the first time members of MCR have paired with the multi-faceted artist. In 2008, Voltaire tapped former MCR vocalist Gerard Way to voice his Creepy Christmas stop-motion animation, “X-Mess Detritus,” which you can watch below:
